Dowinx Breathable Fabric vs Gel Gaming Chair: Which Should You Buy in 2026?
The gel listing is Dowinx's 6657D: a fabric, pocket-spring chair with a detachable gel pad. Here is how it compares with the plain breathable-fabric 6650F on sizing, armrests, price and the warranty catch on eBay.

Dowinx Breathable Fabric vs Dowinx Gel: which should you buy in 2026?
Buy the gel version, Dowinx's Simple Series 6657D, if heat is your main complaint and you weigh between 110 and 175 lbs: it adds a detachable gel pad to a breathable-fabric, pocket-spring design. Everyone else should take the closest plain-fabric match, the ERGONOMIC SERIES 6650F, which keeps the wingless seat, footrest and 135° recline for less: about $139.99 against about $179.99 on Dowinx's US store (checked October 2026).
This comparison is assembled from Dowinx's own US and EU product pages, its warranty policy and OSHA's workstation guidance rather than first-hand use.
The short version: these listings describe sibling chairs. Both are upholstered in fabric, Dowinx sells both as pocket-spring chairs with no side bolsters, both recline to 135°, and both have a pull-out footrest. The gel model's real extras are the cooling pad and adjustable armrests, and its recommended weight range is narrow.
Which Dowinx chairs the two listing names point to
Dowinx titles its listings after features, so one chair can appear under several headlines. Two details pin these two down:
- The "with Gel" chair is the Simple Series 6657D. Dowinx's EU page says it is made with tech fabric and "comes with a detachable gel pad for the lumbar pillow or seat, reducing heat and sweat buildup". The US store lists it under SKU LS-6657D04.
- The "Breathable Fabric" chair is most likely the ERGONOMIC SERIES 6650F (SKU LS-6650F01). Its EU page promises "double the breathability", pocket springs, a wingless seat and a 90°-135° recline with footrest, lumbar and headrest support. That is the closest match among Dowinx's current fabric chairs.
Gel listings also carry "breathable fabric" in their titles, so read the model number in the description rather than the headline. If a "breathable fabric" listing promises a recline well past 135°, it is a different model from either chair on this page.
One more catch: Dowinx's own pages disagree about the 6650F's cushion. The EU listing says "Pocket springs for cushioned, ergonomic support", while a feature panel on the US page says one-piece molded foam gives "better support and rebound than spring packs". Ask the seller which cushion ships before you pay.

What the gel pad changes, and what it does not
The 6657D's pad is detachable and goes on the lumbar pillow or the seat, where Dowinx says it cuts heat and sweat. That makes it an accessory layered onto a fabric chair rather than a separate cooling system: it does not change the frame, the recline or the footrest. Neither product page publishes a temperature or airflow number for the pad or the fabric, so treat "cooler" as the maker's claim rather than a measured result.
The fabric does a share of that work too. Dowinx's own buying FAQ concedes that a chair with fabric "will be more breathable, and of course it will be more difficult to clean", while retro leather "may feel stuffy" over a long sit. If you already sit cool, the gel pad is a nice-to-have; if your back sticks to the chair by mid-afternoon, it is the reason to pay more.
The armrests are the quieter difference. The 6657D's US page says its armrests "can be adjusted to multiple positions", while the 6650F's EU page lists a patented linkage armrest, and its US page says the elbow "supports all positions, even when lying down". If you type at a desk for long stretches, the adjustable pair is easier to set at elbow height.
Weight and height decide more than the gel pad
The most useful numbers on either page sit in the 6657D's sizing block: Dowinx recommends it for people 5 to 6 ft tall and 110 to 175 lbs, while listing a maximum load of 300 lbs. Read the first pair as the comfort range and the 300 lbs as the structural limit. A sitter above 175 lbs is outside what Dowinx itself suggests for this chair.
The 6650F's US page gives only a max load size of 6.2 ft and a max load of 300 lbs, with no recommended range. On paper that makes it the safer of the two for a heavier sitter, though it is not a comfort guarantee.
If you are heavier or taller still, Dowinx's heated-massage MB38 in fabric is the step up within the brand. Its EU page says the steel frame "supports up to 350 lbs" and lists a 155° recline, and the US store sells it at about $185.99 (checked October 2026). Our gaming chair weight capacity and fit guide explains how to read ratings like these.
Footrest, lumbar and posture: what OSHA's guidance adds
A pull-out leg rest is for reclined breaks, not for working posture. For desk work, OSHA's computer workstation guidance says the seat "should be comfortable and allow your feet to rest flat on the floor or footrest", and that the backrest should follow the natural curve of the spine and "provide adequate lumbar support".
Both Dowinx chairs rely on a lumbar pillow rather than a mechanism built into the backrest. Set the pillow at the small of your back, then check it again after you recline, because pillows shift. For gaming, 135° is a relaxed lean rather than a nap position; our explainer on gaming chair recline angles shows what each range suits.
Buying either chair on eBay: check the seller first
The buttons below open eBay search results, which mix brand listings with resellers, and prices vary by seller. Two things matter more than the headline price:
- Warranty eligibility. Dowinx says its limited warranty "is valid only for chairs that you bought through authorized channels", which it defines as Dowinx-registered websites and stores registered to a Dowinx entity on online marketplaces. For products sold through other channels, it says it cannot provide warranty service. A cheaper listing from an unrelated seller can cost you that cover.
- Warranty length. The product pages show a 2-Year Warranty badge, and the policy page promises responsibility "within 2 years from the date of purchase", yet the same policy page also states a warranty period of one year after delivery. Ask the seller which term applies and keep the order record.
Use Dowinx's own store prices as the yardstick. A listing well above the maker's price for the same model number is not a bargain, however it is labelled.
The verdict by buyer
- You run warm, weigh 110 to 175 lbs, and want a lounge-leaning gaming seat: the 6657D with gel. See current listings on eBay
- You want the lower price, or you sit above the 6657D's recommended range but under 300 lbs: the 6650F breathable-fabric chair. See current listings on eBay
- You want heat, a deeper recline or more weight headroom: the MB38 heated-massage chair. See current listings on eBay

FAQ
Is the gel pad on the Dowinx gaming chair removable?
Yes. Dowinx describes it as a detachable pad for the lumbar pillow or the seat, so it can stay on through summer and come off when the room is cool.
Do the Dowinx breathable fabric and gel chairs recline the same amount?
Yes. Dowinx lists 90°-135° for the 6650F and a 135-degree recline for the 6657D, so neither is the better napping chair. The MB38 goes further, to 155°.
Which Dowinx fabric chair suits someone over 175 lbs?
Not the 6657D, going by Dowinx's own sizing: its recommended range tops out at 175 lbs. The 6650F publishes only a 300 lbs maximum, and the MB38 fabric chair is rated up to 350 lbs.
Does a Dowinx chair bought on eBay keep its warranty?
Only when the seller is an authorized channel: a Dowinx website or a marketplace store registered to a Dowinx entity. For other sellers, Dowinx says it cannot provide warranty service.
Is the gel model cooler than a PU leather gaming chair?
Dowinx says its tech fabric and gel pad reduce heat and sweat buildup, but it publishes no temperature figure. Fabric generally breathes better than PU leather; the trade-off is that it is harder to clean.
