Throne Lab exists to answer one question honestly: which chair actually fits your body, your budget, and the way you sit?

Why we built Throne Lab

Buying a gaming chair is weirdly hard. Brands borrow racing-seat styling that looks fast but can fight your posture; spec sheets bury the numbers that matter; and a $150 seat and a $1,500 one can look nearly identical in a thumbnail. We started Throne Lab to cut through that noise with plain-English comparisons you can act on.

How we research

We are a research-led publication, not a testing lab — we have not physically sat in every chair we write about, and we never pretend otherwise. Instead, every recommendation is built from sources you could check yourself:

  • Manufacturer specifications — listed dimensions, weight capacity, materials, and advertised warranty.
  • Aggregated owner reviews — the patterns that show up across thousands of buyers, good and bad.
  • Expert coverage — what established hands-on reviewers consistently report.
  • Fit logic — matching ergonomic vs. racing-style designs, sizes, and price bands to real body types and use cases.

Where we cite a figure — a weight capacity, a price, a warranty term — we present it as the manufacturer-listed or widely-reported value, and we flag that specs change by size, region, and revision. Confirm the current details on the retailer page before you buy.
